Core Training for Better Running | RunAddicts

Most runners have strong hearts and strong legs, but they forget about a key component between the two: the core. You’ve probably heard a lot about strengthening your core for better fitness. If you aren’t sure exactly what your core is, it is the group of muscles that control and support your spine and pelvis. In other words, it’s the muscles of the stomach, back, and hips.

Think of your core as the center of your energy. A strong core will move the energy out to the other parts of your body so they function at their maximum. A weak core doesn’t transfer the energy as well, so some parts of your body will have to compensate by working harder to produce the same motion. After a while, those body parts will break down from excessive wear and tear, and injury will occur.

Parkour is ‘play for adults’ | Washington Examiner

“A lot of people are attracted to or put off from Parkour by what they see on the Internet, and I think the Internet does a bad job of showing what Parkour is,” she says. “It doesn’t show the intermediate steps, the training, the failures it took to get that.”

Henry, a 30-year-old postdoctoral researcher at George Washington University, lives in Northeast D.C. and trains at Primal Fitness in Northwest, the first Parkour gym in America.

She focuses on keeping her body fit and learning new moves, rather than constant motion or making videos.

Buang Pusing Di Singapore – Day 4

On our last day in SG, we left Footprints Hostel around 9am. It was raining hard since we entered the highway up until the airport. We’ve decided to separate from one and other so we could browse the whole Changi airport on our own.

I’ve decided to take my lunch at Subway and finally met up with others at the gate at 10:55am. The plane was sleek and (I guess) new. We’ve arrived in Jakarta 10 minutes earlier than the schedule. That’s all for my trip to SG!

Third day in Singapore, my sore throat is getting worse and worse. We went to Bugis Street today, I’ve bought two shorts for S$25. Then we continued our trip to Sands Sky Park. Some friends of mine spotted Justin Timberlake-alike at the pool, we’re not really sure about that too.

Our third destination was Merlion Statue. We had lunch at ThaiExpress before we went there. Jurong Point has been our furthest destination since we got here. We’ve separated ourselves from the group after that.

Some still stayed at Jurong, some went to Orchard, and I went back to the hostel to get a free wifi connection to get suggestion where to buy iPhone tripod. Suggestions were coming on my Twitter replies, all suggested me to check out Mustafa Center.

Been strolling around the lowest story up until the highest one but can’t find what I’ve been looking for. I end up having dinner at an Indian restaurant, ordered nasi padang (which tastes curry so much) and 2 glass of teh tarik. And that’s how I end the third day.

On the second day of our trip to SG, we spent the entire day at Sentosa Island. We went to Universal Studios Singapore and watched Songs of The Sea. If you’re gonna try Jurrasic Park Rapid Adventure, you can put on a raincoat, otherwise you’ll end up like me, soaked from head to toe. Later at night, we had our dinner at Zsofi Tapas Bar. It’s top rated nearby on Buuuk app and recommended by Lonely Planet.

[Pics] The first batch of Freshmen Enrichment Program for Binusian 2014

It’s a closing day of the 1st batch of Freshmen Enrichment Program series that has been running for a week. Back in the day when I got this campus orientation program in 2006, it’s called Pekan Orientasi Mahasiswa (POM). My suggestion is, what you see on the campus unit expo is maybe not what you will got. Be wise, there’s still a lot of community outside the campus that you could join later. 😀
